I love Bob Sykes! I normal get a Big Bob sandwich and red velvet cake, but since it was Tuesday I got a chicken taco.

I come from a bbq restaurant family. In Boston, Ma. My hard learned clues are, if there is a line or full parking lot and most of all if you can smell it before you see the actual restaurant. I saw the sign and still didn’t smell it. But lot was full and a line at the drive thru. So I went in to find, pictures below. A smoker pit is a solid positive. Still on alert I ordered 2 bones to see what I would taste before I spent $30 on a disappointing slab. NOT. DISSAPOINTED. I ended up getting $46 worth of food with perfect potions for that amount. I’d want better vegetable selections. But I came in for the Q. And that was worth a rerun trip

First let me start off by saying that I know everyone has their favorite bbq spot, and this is mine. When you pull in the parking lot it hits you. Great old-school bbq restaurant where you walk by the pit when you go in. The whole place smells like bbq. They don't have the typical thick, sweet, sticky sauce and not a thin, vinegar Carolina style sauce. Somewhere in the middle. All I know is that it goes great on chopped pork. Over the last 30 years I've tried just about everything on the menu and I keep going back to the bbq sandwiches and onion rings, not that the rest of the menu isn't good. I just know what I like! All the so-called great bbq places in Memphis need to come down and have Bob Sykes show them how it's done.

Honest People!!! Good food too!!! We had Bob Sykes cater a birthday party serving 70 people. Everything was great. But we had added a special 5lbs order of Beef Brisket because they only serve brisket on Wednesdays. But before they delivered the order they contacted us and apologized because the brisket had unexpectedly cooked down to only 3lbs and it was too late to cook more brisket. They gave us several options to compensate us for the miss calculation. Honest People and Good Food!!! Thanks

We visited Bob Skyes Bar B Que and opted for the drive-thru since the dine-in area was closed. Luckily, the drive-thru stays open a bit later. Even though we didn't dine inside, the hospitality was outstanding. The staff was very kind and politely informed us about the dine-in closure while directing us to the drive-thru. I ordered the barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, beans, and coleslaw, while my partner chose the ribs, mashed potatoes, and candied yams. Overall, it was a great experience!

I was rolling through my hometown and stopped by for a meal. It's great to see nothing has changed. Smokey, delicious pork inside/outside chopped sandwich - tender, and not dry like some places. Baked beans. And a slice of lemon icebox pie - so home style!

I had the chopped chicken plate coleslaw and baked beans. I also got the Strawberry shortcake. Good exceeded my expectations. The chicken was good with the BBQ sauce. Slaw and beans were excellent. The portion was big enough for my lunch and dinner. The strawberry shortcake was the best I’ve had in years. It comes with a cup of strawberry drizzle either real strawberries. PERFECT!!!!
